Accompanying the meeting, several field trips are planned: A registration is required for all field trips. Please note that for organisational reasons all sightseeing tours can only take place if the minimum number of participants has been reached. There is also a maximum limit for some tours. Unless otherwise noted, the tours are in English.

Tour: Geology of the Upper Rhine River Area, Museum of Natural History, Karlsruhe

Tour of Karlsruhe: City of justice

For over 50 years, Karlsruhe has presented itself as „the residence of justice“ for the modern, democratic state of Germany. Learn all about the history of rights up to the present legal system. The tour leads to the Federal Constitutional Court and the Federal Court.

A leisurely walk at evening time has its own appeal. Your guide will accompany you on a detailed leasurely tour through Karlsruhe's city center and you will pass by many tourist attractions. You will hear tales about their late history as well as contemporary anecdotes.

Brewery tour through the "Hoepfner Burg"

Hoepfner is a traditional brewery. Founded in 1798, the brewery is one of the oldest active companies in Karlsruhe. In the "Hoepfner Burg" built in 1896, the beer is brewed and bottled in the eastern part of Karlsruhe. "Fresh wind in old walls" expresses the desire to connect tradition with new ideas. Within the historic walls, you will find a very modern and innovative company which is managed by the guidelines "quality, continuity and partnership“.

Tour to Campus NORD: KATRIN and TOSKA

„The KArlsruhe TRItium Neutrino (KATRIN) experiment, which is presently being assembled at Tritium Laboratory Karlsruhe on the KIT Campus North site, will investigate the most important open issue in neutrino physics: What is the absolute mass scale of neutrinos? Neutrinos probably are the most fascinating species of elementary particles. The TOSKA (ToroidalSpulen Testanlage Karlsruhe) complex was constructed in the early 1980s to test large superconducting magnets for fusion energy.
